Learning Objectives:

Review and discuss unusual pediatric seizure and SE cases and the therapy options for managing these complex cases.
Describe the recommended treatment strategies of pediatric ED patients who present with seizures and SE, based on the
2004 ACEP clinical policy.
Examine the ways in which guidelines, protocols, and clinical policies can be utilized to improve the ED care of pediatric seizure and SE patients given the ACEP clinical policy.
