Neurologic Education in Emergency Medicine Training Programs

The paper below: "Neurologic Education in Emergency Medicine Training Programs", written by Brian A. Stettler, MD, Edward C. Jauch, MD, MS, Brett Kissela, MD, Christopher J. Lindsell, PhD, recognized the Foundation for Education and Research in Neurological Emergencies (FERNE) for its intellectual support. The paper concludes the following: "Currently, the primary method of educating residents to treat neurologic emergencies is through didactic lectures, as opposed to clinical rotations in neurology or neurosurgery. Improving resident education in neurologic emergencies within the current educational format must focus on improving didactic lectures in neurologic topics." This conclusion closely matches the FERNE mission, which includes the development, presentation, and archiving of quality case-based educational lectures in the area of neurological emergencies. Job well done to all!
